Cologne Bottle
English, 1903, bottle is uniquely designed to display engraved decoration, as is silver hinged overcap, peacock in full display engraved within large circular cartouche, peacock engraved in matte finish, displayed tail rock crystal engraved, sterling mounts with marks for William Hutton & Sons, London, 1903, .925 fine, features similar displayed peacock on top of hinged overcap, remainder of piece elaborately engraved all over in floral motif and bird, original inner stopper, 5-1/4 in. good condition. Notes: Hollingsworth, p. 102 shows identical engraved peacock on Webb decanter, engraved in 1890 by William Fritsche.. Provenance: Creech Collection, North Carolina
