one of Kentucky or Pennsylvania make, circa 1800, round 6-3/8 in. barrel, likely .40 caliber smooth bore, unsigned lock plate, engraved brass side plate, trigger guard, and butt cap, brass rear ramrod pipe and forend, full figured maple stock, overall length 11-1/4 in.; Derringer percussion pistol, possibly of Southern make, octagonal 3-3/4 in. barrel, likely .38 caliber, unmarked lock plate, brass trigger guard, likely maple stock, wooden ramrod, overall length 7-3/4 in. - Provenance: From the Collection of Ashley Halsey, Jr., Alexandria and Spotsylvania, Virginia

Condition

Kentucky/Pennsylvania flintlock pistol with nice dark patina with some pitting to metal, brasses in good condition, stock in good condition with some dings and scratches; Derringer with pitting, oxidation and rust to barrel, hammer and side plate, crack and possible repair to wood at left barrel, other minor small splits to wood grain, general wear, both pistols appear to function mechanically
