London England, late 18th/ early 19th century, double trigger, likely .40 bore, side by side 4-1/2 in. octagonal barrel configuration, finely engraved box lock plates, thumb rest, hammers, trigger guard and butt cap, other engravings to side, ends, and top of barrels, barrel rib engraved "MANTON. LONDON", stamped hallmarks to bottoms of both barrels, dark walnut checkered stock, inlaid silver thumb escutcheon, metal ramrod attached under barrel via swivel,ÿstorage compartment in butt cap, overall length 9-1/4 in. - Provenance: From the Collection of Ashley Halsey, Jr., Alexandria and Spotsylvania, Virginia
