attributed to John Janvier Sr., Odessa, Delaware, circa 1775, dentil molded scrolled pediment with carved rosettes, basketwork tympanum, over dentil molded and blind fretwork frieze, paneled doors with scalloped moldings opening to adjustable shelved interior with two candle slides, lower case with fitted desk interior over four graduated long drawers, set on ogee bracket feet, pine, oak, poplar, and white cedar secondary, 102-1/2 x 40-3/4 x 24 in.

strip patch at writing surface hinges (fall board restored), original feet and most blocking, scattered breaks and repairs with some color retouch, formerly fitted with casters, now removed, brasses replaced (plugged center holes), original pediment and rosettes, basket weave with scattered breaks and glue repairs, later brace at back of finial plinth.
