18th century, coastal Massachusetts or Salem, serpentine crest rail centered by a carved acanthus, scrolled splat, foliate carved knees, cabriole legs, ball and claw feet, 37-1/2 × 22-3/4 × 23-1/2 in.

Condition

structurally sound, loss at one rear foot, replaced glue blocks, later one board seat, repaired stiles at seat joints, seat rail return with small patch repair, feet with wear, other general wear and imperfections expected with age and use
