Essex County, Massachusetts, circa 1766, walnut and maple with white pine secondary, two finely carved fan drawers, probably original flame and urn finials and brasses, back with chalk inscription "By the will of God- W.D May 11, 1766",  86 x 39 x 20-1/2 in. - Provenance: A probable first owner is William Learned (1739-1807), Watertown, Massachusetts who married Ann Cox on December 17, 1766.Descended through the Learned family until purchased by;Ginsburg & Levy, Inc., New York; Collection of the Gano Pearson Trust; Sold Sotheby's New York, January 22, 2016 lot 1550 for $17,500

Condition

very good overall, brasses possibly original, original finials (one flame replaced), minor repairs at front skirt corners, glue repair to one front leg at joint with skirt, very minor repairs at drawer lips, patch to bonnet dustboard, later varnish to drawer interiors, other typical minor repairs and surface flaws
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
