Boston, 1760-1780, dense figured single board mahogany top and case sides with white pine secondary, dovetailed drawers with probably original bat wing brasses, original bracket feet, 31-1/4 x 32-1/2 x 20-1/2 in. - Provenance: Israel Sack, New York; Lexington, Massachusetts estate; Minneapolis, Minnesota estate; Wayne Pratt & Co., Marlborough, Massachusetts, purchased January 1991 for $80,000 (accompanied by copy of receipt); Private Virginia Collection
very good condition with minor checking to interior of some drawer facings, probably original brasses (no plugged holes), repair at top of one brass escutcheon, original feet with scattered repairs and restorations including two feet with facings ended out 1/2 inch, one rear facing with two later plugged screws, other scattered later screws, old loss at interior edge of front skirt (no evidence that it ever had a drop), some possible later color at underside (some possible replaced blocking), scattered repairs to drawer bottoms, dents and distress near top drawer escutcheon, some scratches and finish wear to top
Condition
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
