bucolic scene with two part center registry of female figure under a bird topped arbor beside deer and farm house, over birds and cow grazing on grassy hill, inscribed "Eliza Whitman her work ended in the 10th year of her age 1796", all within an elaborate floral border, silk on gauge ground, sight 21 x 19 in.; birds eye maple frame with gilt cove molding, 26-1/4 x 24 in.

multiple areas of loss to gauze ground especially around female figure and framed edges, some discoloration to silk threads, overall fading to embroidered elements and general toning to gauze ground, veneer losses to frame lower right, discoloration to gilt molding, not examined out of frame
