probably Massachusetts, scene of two Georgian style houses with figures and animals in shared yard, floral urns, trees, and birds above, stitched bottom, "Martha Brigs Age 12 1797", four line pious verse stitched top with the names "Robert Comy" and "Sara Comy" along with various other names and initials, floral vine border, silk on loosely woven linen, typed note attached verso details genealogical information on Martha Brigs, sight 18 x 15 in.; wood veneer frame, 23 x 19-1/2 in.

Note: Attached note verso indicates that Martha Briggs was born in Halifax, Massachusetts on April 12, 1784.

Condition

blue tape or paper visible along edges of needlework, area of loss to linen ground center right edge and split center left edge, other scattered areas of minor wear and loss to linen ground, fading, some cracking to veneer, not examined of of frame

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
