circa 1835-1840, lead oxide, tin, manganese, copper and engobe "Robin's egg blue" speckle glaze, cream colored interior, bulbous body, tapered foot, collared straight neck, arched tailed applied strap handle with thumb and pinky knobs, domed lid with knob finial, faintly stamped on lid and neck "J.BELL" 8 in.

glaze anomalies as made, 5 in. band of glaze loss at belly of mug, two 3/4 in, and one 1/2 in. area of glaze wear to left side of handle, glaze wear to right side of handle, glaze wear on handle knobs and tail, other glaze frits to belly of mug, two 1 in, and two 1/2 in. shallow clay chips under lid edge, other small chips to rim slip ring, otherwise good presentation and condition for an early very rare glazed surviving example
