probably New York, 1790-1800, swan's neck pediment with phoenix cartouche over a large inlaid shell patera, scrolled base also with shell patera inlay, in old surface, 51-1/4 x 23-1/4 in., old surface with dirt and soot, break and repair at one swan's neck, scattered breaks and repairs to phoenix finial, scattered gilding and veneer chips and losses, possible retouch to gilding (obscured by surface dirt).
