Oak London Bridge Historical Pedestal Table
London, circa 1833, oak throughout, circular top with brass gallery centering an engraved plaque inscribed "The oak of which this table was made was under the foundation of Old London Bridge upwards of 646 years and taken up from thence in 1833 by Sir Edward Banks and William John Jolliffe, Esq., the contractors & builders of New London Bridge", top lifts off to reveal a fabric-lined compartmented interior, skirt set with carved rosettes and several initials, pedestal base with scrolled feet, 31 x 17-1/2 in., some distress and stains to top, lacking one carved applique at skirt, applied boss at base off but present, other scattered veneer checking.
