British, 19th century, burlwood-veneered top opening to a baize-lined writing surface, three dovetailed drawers with oak linings, set on elaborate block-and-turned base with Spanish feet, front posts acting as gates to support top, rich brown patinated surface, with two turned wooden candlesticks which fit into openings on top, 47-1/2 x 33 x 16 in., 27-1/2 in. (open), veneer chips, losses and scattered minor repairs overall, glue repair at molding at one front gate, other scattered minor flaws.
