British, circa 1690, fine colored marquetry panels throughout depicting urns of flowers with various birds, bookmatched veneered walnut case set with a map drawer over two cabinet doors opening to 10 interior drawers and a central prospect door opening to four additional drawers, prospect door with urn and songbird marquetry inlay, set on a later conforming frame with a single marquetry inlaid long drawer, on barley twist legs with stretchers, dovetailed construction, oak secondary, 66 x 42-1/2 x 20-3/4 in. - Note: A closely related William and Mary cabinet on stand, also with restorations to the frame, sold at Christie's, the Cowdry sale, West Sussex, September 13, 2011, for œ16,250. - Provenance: Estate of Paul W.
