French patent date 1880, Haviland & Co., from the later edition of the President Rutherford B. Hayes state dinner service for Presidents Arthur and Cleveland, based on the drawings of Theodore R. David, Ohio Golden-Rod, chromolithograph of swallow flying amongst goldenrods, blue sky, hand painted highlights, gilt rim and foot ring, signed with acrostic mark "TD" to pointed end, underside of rim printed with the Great Seal of the United States, the reverse stamped in overglaze red "Fabrique par/Haviland&Co./d'apres les dessins de/Theo: R. David", stamped in overglaze blue "Design Patented/August 10th 1880/No 11934", and stamped in underglaze green "H&Co.", 9 in.
