French, patent date 1880, Haviland & Co., from the later edition of the President Rutherford B. Hayes state dinner service for Presidents Arthur and Cleveland, from the designs of Theodore R. Davis, of rectangular form, folded corners, chromolithograph of wild turkey in landscape before a sunset sky, gilt border and foot rim, signed with acrostic mark "TD" to lower right, reverse rim with the Great Seal of the United States printed in color, the reverse stamped in overglaze red "Fabrique par/Haviland&Co./d'apres les dessins de/Theo: R. David", stamped in overglaze blue "Design Patented/August 10th 1880/No 11936", and stamped in underglaze green "H&Co.", with further impressed numbers, 19-3/4 x12-5/8 in.
