Creamware Liverpool Jug England, early 20th century (copy of 1825 original), ogee curved body with sharp lip and applied oval handle, black transfer prints of George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette and American eagle with mottoes "REPUBLICANS / ARE NOT Always UNGRATEFUL" around eagle under spout, "FIRST IN WAR, FIRST IN PEACE, / AND FIRST IN THE HEARTS OF HIS FELLOW CITIZENS" with Washington portrait and motto "WASHINGTON / HIS COUNTRY'S FATHER" on one side, "IN COMMEMORATION, OF THE / VISIT, OF GENL LA FAYETTE, TO / THE U.S. OF AMERICA, IN THE YEAR 1824" with Lafayette portrait and motto "FAYETTE / THE NATIONS GUEST, signed "Ricd Hall & Son" below eagle, 5-1/2 in., one chip on foot rim, crack in bottom follows foot rim, crazed glaze, various anomalies as made.
