Germany, 19th century, porcelain, possibly depicting Persephone and a youthful Hades, the nude female figure with arms raised and hair blowing emerges from a tree stump growing out of a rock while being pursued by a curly haired young man in drapery and sandals, raised on square plinths, each with blue painted crossed-swords mark on bottom, 14 in.

Condition

repairs to arms and hands, some digits missing, one hand missing, a small branch on the middle of the tree trunk is missing from one group and broken on the other, some hair curls on the females are missing or repaired, leaves on back of one tree are broken, grimy
