by Larimer Sisters American, possibly Pennsylvania or New Jersey, one signed "Ruhammah Larimer's Sampler 1832", silk on linen, 17 x 16 in. (sight), later wood frame; one signed "Amelia Larimer's Samper 1828", silk on linen, 16-1/2 x 16 in. (sight), later wood frame. Condition: both with fading, scattered stains, losses, browning of linen. Notes: Both needleworks show a similar central house, with birds in trees and flower baskets in top band. Amelia's sampler features a female figure on left side.
