American/British/Japanese, 18th/19th/20th century, two Massachusetts, circa 1865, United States light cavalry sabres, brown leather and wire grips with brass hilts of French style, marked "G.W.C./65" at pummels, each with curved single-edged blade with one wide fuller, with iron scabbards, 35-1/2 in. blades; two probably late 18th century, infantry hangers with brass hilts, marked "GB" at ricasso, with leather, bronze scabbards, 23-1/2 in.; together with two World War II police swords, gilt hilts with cherry blossom decoration, leather and wire-wrapped grips, chrome blades and scabbards, 30 in.

typical wear and corrosion consistent with age and use, gilt loss, rust throughout, wear at scabbards; Japanese with gilt loss at hilts
