Mary Roane Ritchie Green (1811-1842, Virginia) was the daughter of Isabella Fouche and Thomas Ritchie, the longtime editor and publisher of the Richmond Enquirer, and one of the most influential members of the Democratic Party. Mary’s sister Isabella married George Evelyn Harrison, and she became mistress of Brandon Plantation located on the James River in Virginia. Mary married Thomas Green, a prominent Richmond attorney, and they had one daughter, Emily born in 1840. Emily married Sydney Ashe Legare of Charleston, South Carolina, and their daughter Sarah Seabrook Legare married Morton Waring Simmons. Their son, Thomas Ritchie Simmons was the father of Mary Ritchie Simmons Tutterow, who passed away in 2014.
