Edgefield District, South Carolina, circa early 1850's, likely made at the Thomas Chandler Pottery, Kirksey's Crossroads, greenish alkaline glaze with whitish glaze runs to lower portion of body, large straight sided jug form, kaolin slip cup decoration on rounded shoulder, stamped "Chandler Maker" above kaolin slip "3", ringed neck with tooled rim, applied strap handle, 16 in.
