(Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, American Civil War Confederate General, 1824-1863), dated June 10, 1862, sent from Valley District Headquarters and addressed to John March of Winchester (Virginia), "...It has been called to my attention that men of my command have helped themselves to your flock of chickens...," signed "T.J. Jackson" as Major General, nine lines on one page, hand-written in brown ink on blue wove stationery; framed together with modern reprint of an 1863 portrait of General Jackson by William Garl Browne and a brief biography, 6-1/2 x 5-3/4 in. (letter page); 34 x 23 in.
