Keisuke (1895-1984)
Japanese, 1970s, mostly complete month calendars for 1970, 1971 and 1972 and partial calendar for 1974 designed and hand-stencil printed by one of Japanese foremost graphic artists, each 14-1/2 x 11 in., each in acid-free sleeves, (39 sheets). Condition: good condition. Notes: Serizawa-san started producing these calendars in 1946 with stencil dyeing on hand-made paper, continuing until his death in 1984. They were very popular with occupying forces. These may have been gifts from Japanese friends to the Bennetts' years after they left Japan.
