attributed to Coastal North Carolina, 19th century, interior with probably original dividers, line-inlaid front with diamond escutcheon over line-inlaid dovetailed drawer, inlaid tapered legs, yellow pine secondary throughout, old, dry possibly original finish, 29-1/2 x 18 x 14-1/2 in., good condition overall, probably original hinges and dividers (some minor distress at hinges), minor warping to legs (inlay extends to bottom of legs but no evidence of legs having been trimmed), minor cracks at front, drawer never fitted with a pull, lacking lock, unusual top design appears to be as made, top with shrinkage and stains, hinges set with cut nails (not removed for examination). Provenance: by descent in the Sprunt and Taylor families of Wilmington and Winston Salem, North Carolina
