OCTOBER 16. 1860.", standard second model receiver, case hardened, lever action, engraved monogram to left sideplate "HTS", single trigger, figured walnut stock, checkered grip, crescent steel buttplate with trapdoor, beech and graduated peep sight, LOP 13-1/2 in.ÿ - Note: Included is a copy of the letter from Cody Firearms Museum showing this rifle was shipped from Winchester on March 17, 1881, as order number 24588. It further shows a subsequent return for repair in August of 1896. Research shows this repair to have been a replaced stock and refinishing to all metal components.Also, an article accompanies this lot which attributes this firearm as the monogrammed mate to serial number 67517.
