Cellaret on Stand
possibly Eastern Tennessee, 1800-1810, inlaid lid opening to an interior with original dividers for 12 bottles, original frame set with line-inlaid dovetailed drawer, finely tapered legs, yellow pine secondary throughout, original hinges, carrying handles and drawer pull, 37 x 22-1/2 x 17 in., with three square, green blown molded case bottles with cork and metal stopper, 11-1/4 in.. Condition: excellent condition overall, scattered surface stains and finish losses and fading with traces of early surface, hinge repair with thin applied face patch at back of lid, other scattered minor flaws. Provenance: Pembroke Antiques, Williamsburg, Virginia; said to have been purchased in East Tennessee; Collection of Anne McPherson and the Late John Bivins, Jr.
