Chest Kentucky or Tennessee, early 19th century, star-inlaid hinged top opening to a divided interior, star-inlaid box front, dovetailed drawer with brass pulls, tapered legs, 32-3/4 x 25 x 16 in., star inlay possibly of a later date, original top with early strip patch and scars from previous braces, box and drawer dividers early replacements, drawer guides and supports replaced including blades above and below drawer facings, brasses period replacements (no plugged holes), formerly fitted with braces in frame under box and now removed, box lacking lock, other scattered surface wear and flaws.
