(American, early 19th century) Seven hollow cut silhouettes, three West Point related identified verso as "Lieutenant" Joseph N. Chambers of West Point 1818", "Cadet Thomas Noel West Point 1814", "Cadet Edward Lloyd Nicholson West Point 1814", four Nicholson/ Lloyd related including "Rebecca Lloyd Nicholson", "Joseph Hopper Nicholson..1814", "Miss Elizabeth Taylor Lloyd of Wye House 1813" and a smaller identified as "Col. Monroe", 2-1/2 x 2 in., all but one cream paper over black silk, one inked, 3-5/8 2-3/8 in. (oval sight); black painted frame, six with eglomise mats all with foxing, most with fading to silk. Provenance: Collected by Mrs. Rebecca Lloyd Nicholson (1770-1848), wife of Chief Justice Joseph Hopper Nicholson, and the second daughter of Col. Edward Lloyd, President of the Executive Council, under the colonial government of Maryland; by descent in the Shippen and Lloyd Family
