(Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, b. 1803, Catawba County, NC, d.?) circa 1850, percussion fullstock, 43-1/4 in. octagonal barrel, 3/8 in. bore, three screw rounded barrel tang, inscribed "Abram Cook" on top of barrel, dovetail brass blade front sight, split rear sight, likely converted lock plate stamped "JOES,,,,HALL / WARRANTED", four inlaid silver fish decoration to both sides of forestock, two silver fish inlaid to either side of trigger guard, silver inlaid star on carved cheek rest, double set triggers, brass trigger guard, ramrod guides and thimble, and butt plates, 59-1/4 in. overall

handling wear consistent with age and use, oxidation to exterior barrel, some pitting to sides of barrel and barrel near breech, oxidation to lock plate, pitting to cock and bolster, thin 1-1/2 in. loss to right end of fore stock, curved separation to left side of fore stock with two tack repair, old crack and repair around wrist of gun under trigger guard and behind lock plate with infill, and two small metal plates tacked at both sides of trigger guard, bend in rear of trigger guard, thin 2 in. hairline in front of trigger guard, cock frozen in position
