(Alamance County, present day Burlington, NC, 1793-1863) early to mid 1800s, percussion fullstock, 43 in. octagonal barrel, 3/8 in. bore, inscribed "Elias Albright & Son" on top of barrel, dovetail silver blade front sight, split rear sight. 6 in. three screw rounded barrel tang, lock plate marked "HOWELL / WARRANTED" with engraving, maple stock, buttstock with high comb and edge molding, carved cheek rest, double set triggers, brass trigger guard, forend cap, ramrod guides and thimble, and butt plate, 58-3/4 in. overall

Note: Elias Albright's gun shop was located at present day Church Street in Burlington, NC, early rifles he produced signed "E. Albright" were more in the style of the early Deep River School, rifles he produced with his son John Albright signed "Elias Albright & Son", are more in the Jamestown School style, see North Carolina Schools of Longrifles 1765 - 1865, by William Ivey and Kenneth Orr, pgs. 82, 83, and 120.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction, or will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
