attributed to Southampton, Isle of Wight or Surry County, 1750-1765, walnut throughout, rectangular top with molded edges and cropped corners, above a shaped skirt and canted turned legs and pad feet, 28-1/2 x 28-1/4 x 19 in.Note: The table is accompanied by a copy of a write up from Sumpter Priddy, who notes that "this simple, but sophisticated tea table is from a small group by an as yet unidentified cabinetmaker working in Southeastern Virginia. The elaborate shaping of the skirt, the light cant to the legs, the delicate but fully developed pad feet, and the subtle use of beaded edges represent workmanship and design of the highest caliber." - Provenance: Sumpter Priddy; Private Collection
