possibly Virginia, early 18th century, hinged lid with original iron strap hinges, open interior with till and two drawers, paneled on all four sides, turned legs, dovetailed and rosehead nail construction, poplar and walnut secondary, 28-3/4 x 48 x 24 in. - Provenance: Private Georgia Collection
good condition and integrity overall, hole in front of lid from lock hasp, probably original lock and hinges, top with other stains, surface distress, and shrinkage separations with one loss, some cracks, original feet with typical minor cracks and wear, some distress and later pinning to battens for top, old loss at front edge of top, other typical wear and surface flaws
