chair I (slip seat VI), good overall, crack to one rear stile at joint with back seat rail with two later small pins and glue, probable repinning at seat rail; chair I (slip seat III), breaks and repairs to joint of crest rail to splat, with some associated small patches and losses (see detailed photos), crack at one rear stile at joint with back seat rail, crack at one front knee with some color retouch, minor edge repairs at edges of rear stiles, front seat blocking replaced; chair IV (slip seat IV), breaks and repairs at joint of seat rail to stiles and splat (top of one rear stile with two small screws, small chip at top of one ear, see detailed photos); chair VI (slip seat VI), breaks and repairs at joint of crest rail to rear stiles and splat, some associated small patches and color distress, small separation and infill at center splat, replaced seat blocking, minor cracks at top of front legs, each rear stile with one later pin at seat rail, probable repinning at seat rail; all chairs with wear at feet and knees, scattered bumps, wear, and surface flaws consistent with age
