possibly Maryland, 1800-1820, figured mahogany case set with elaborate eagle and pilaster inlays, hidden frieze drawer over finely fitted butler's desk with fan and column inlays, centering a serpentine prospect section, poplar, white pine, yellow pine, and white cedar secondary, finely dovetailed drawers, 50 x 46 x 22 in.˜Provenance: A Virginia Institution
rough condition overall, with distress, losses, and repairs to veneers especially to banding at pilasters, water stains at top, original feet with breaks and repairs, breaks and losses to fan inlaid valence at one side (several pieces of but present)
