Portuguese or Spanish, 18th century, elaborately carved in deep relief, top with molded and mask carved edges centering an armorial cartouche flanked by dragons, facade with gilt iron escutcheon surrounded by dragons and winged figures, deeply carved base molding on ball and claw feet, distinctive dovetails, carved side panels set with carrying handles, 34 x 48 x 26 in.

good condition overall, minor loss at lock hasp, later fabric backing and gilding to escutcheon at metal corner mounts, minor loss at one front corner of base molding, base molding and feet appear to be original but possibly early restorations (some color disparity), interior formerly fitted with till, some later nails at foot attachments, scattered minor chips to carving, cracks, surface wear, and other typical flaws
