Portuguese or Spanish, 18th century, domed lid with carved and molded edges, open interior, dovetailed case set with iron carrying handles, carved molded base set with large, boldly formed pine ball and claw feet, distinctive dovetails, corner mounts and lock escutcheon set on fabric backing, 28-1/2 x 49 x 24 in.

good structural condition, scattered minor pest damage, some water stains and finish wear, distress and losses to fabric backing and to surface of corner mounts, original carved feet with some later bracing at attachments, minor shrinkage cracks and water damage at bottom, battens for top possibly old replacements
