Chinese, early 19th century, iron brown colored ground, leaf shaped cartouches with famille rose floral decorations, pink floral bands on shoulders and bases, covers with finials and repeating famille rose elements, 9 x 3-3/4 in.
Notes: Batavia ware, was created in the far east, and imported into the Netherlands.  The items are covered in a brown color that was achieved using iron in the glaze.  The name is derived from the port city where the goods originated.Â
