Carved Walnut Chest of Drawers
possibly Lincoln County, 1820-1830, rosette and stop-fluted carved backsplash, four dovetailed drawers with yellow pine secondary, inlaid escutcheons, original locks, checkerboard inlay, carved rosette and stop-fluted carved peaked front and side skirts on turned feet, 59-1/2 x 41-1/2 x 23 in., good condition overall, most knobs probably replaced, lacking three finials on splashboard, scattered surface stains and wear especially to top. Notes: Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has documentation files on three corner cupboards made by this, as yet unidentified, craftsman from Lincoln (now Gaston) County, North Carolina..
