Five-Drawer Chest attributed to Davidson County, ca. 1820/1830, in fine original surface, inlaid drawers with yellow pine secondary, dovetailed construction, original bracket feet, drawers with scattered pencil inscriptions, 44 x 37 x 17 in.. Condition: fine as-found condition, patch at one escutcheon, top two drawers with surface possibly lightly cleaned, lacking drawer locks, some wooden knobs and one currently detached, original feet (one minor loss at spur), other stains, abrasions and surface distress. Notes: There are several documented 19th century Davidson County, NC cabinet makers. There are no identified works by any of these cabinet makers to date and this chest could have been produced by any one of them.
