Boston, 1760-1780, dense figured mahogany throughout, four graduated dovetailed drawers, on original bracket feet, 29-1/2 x 34-1/2 x 19-1/2 in. - Provenance: one drawer with label for David Stockwell, Westchester, Pennsylvania; Property from a duPont Family Estate, Charlottesville, Virginia
extensive sun fading and surface distress, checking and warping at case sides, original feet and most blocking with breaks and repairs to facings, one spur replaced, patch at one rear bracket, brasses replaced, one patch and repair to drawer facing at escutcheon, top with warping and one small corner repair; This is a fine example of the form in need of finish work and other minor repairs, back has been off and reset, possibly later
