English, circa 1825-1830, chamfered rectangular shape with gilt scroll and turned side handles, top with two pen trays flanking two raised urn-form inset inkwells with covers and central circular footed dish, decorated in Japan style with panels of birds, flowers and fan motifs, 13-1/4 in., wear to gilt especially on handles and inkwell lids, missing center lid.
