Who? What? Yeah-, the artist's drawings and commentary on a forgery, 1989, signed authentically middle right horizontally "Keith Haring" and inscribed "To Matt", marker on paper record sleeve, 12 x 12 in.; blue metal frame, 17-1/2 x 17-3/8 in.

Note:

Matt Dike (1962-2018) was a producer, writer and founding member of the Dust Brothers and co-creator of the Delicious Vinyl record label. After co-producing and co-writing the Beastie Boys hit, “Paul’s Boutique” he co-wrote and co-produced some of hip-hop’s most recognizable songs such as “Funky Cold Medina” and "Wild Thing” for Tone Loc and “Bust A Move" for Young MC.

He was also a club owner and D.J. who mixed in influential circles. He met and befriended artists such as Jean Michel Basquiat, a one-time roommate, Keith Haring, and George Condo.

During one of Dike’s events someone pretending to be Keith Haring drew the middle section of this work on a vinyl sleeve and forged Haring’s signature, inscribing it “To Matt”. The consignor states that, "a few years later, Keith Haring saw this hanging on his wall and said 'I didn't do this!' He then took it down and drew around it, questioning what the other person was thinking, comparing the art and signature."
