probably mid 18th century, upper case with arched top centering a boldly carved lion mask, finely carved moldings, beveled glazed doors opening to adjustable shelved interior, lower case with figured mahogany paneled doors with carved molded surrounds opening to adjustable shelved interior, boldly carved gadrooned shell and leaf carved skirt, set on lion's paw feet, brass casters, 89-1/2 x 54-1/2 x 26 x - Provenance: Estate of Robert K. brass carrying handles reset or replaced (patches at case sides from previous placement), probably period brass casters, scattered bumps and minor repairs at moldings, upper doors reglazed and possible restorations to interior shelves, original feet with some blocking possibly replaced, probable repair to one rear foot where structural rail is attached (patch and two plugged screws, other repairs to structural rail), other scattered typical molding flaws, wear, and minor repairs, case possibly reduced in depth
Condition
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
