possibly Irish, mid 18th century, solid figured mahogany top set with original iron butt hinges variously stamped "RF" and "P", over a scalloped frame set with six finely carved cabriole legs, set on ball and claw feet, 28-1/2 x 64-1/2 x 23 in., opens to 67-1/2 in. - Provenance: Estate of Robert K. Johnson, Aiken, South Carolina
surviving in a fine state of preservation, scattered pest damage to secondary woods, very minor wear and surface flaws consistent with age, possible repair at bottom of one leaf
