Lee and Carter Families probably 19th century, 18 kt. yellow gold cuff bracelet with engraved partial crest of a dog with paw on a shield, attributed to be the motto for Robert "King" Carter, and possibly belonging to a son or later descendant, 18.8 grams; Lee family seal/watch fob with 14 kt. 6 in. chain, three-sided smoky quartz seal composed of smoky quartz, one side with "LC" monogram and two with family seals from Lee and Corbin families; 18th century portrait miniature of a gentleman, watercolor on ivory, 2-1/2 x 2 in., 10 kt. gold frame, with two wax impressions of seal and monogram, scratches, bends to bracelet, wear to quarts seal, vertical crack in portrait. Notes: Thomas Lee, the builder of Stratford Hall in Virginia, was born in 1690, and was the son of Richard Lee II and Laetitia Corbin. His brother, Henry Lee I, was the great-grandfather of Robert E. Lee. Thomas Lee's oldest daughter, Hanna Lee, married Gowen Corbin, a cousin, in 1748. The Carter and Lee families were joined when Ann Hill Carter married Henry "Light Horse" Harry Lee in 1793 at Shirley Plantation in Virginia.
