English, third quarter 19th century, mahogany case with brass escutcheon opening to a blue-velvet lining labeled "Hancock & Sons Trade Mark Worcester", white porcelain and glass color chart and paint palette stamped "James Hancock & Sons Ceramic Art Color Works Worcester", 12 glass vials on each side with powdered pigments, lift-out tray with additional tubes of color and glass vials of powdered pigments below, fitted wells flanked by original glass turpentine and spirit bottles, original key, 3-1/2 x 12 x 9 in. old crack and separation to top with repair
