possibly Ming dynasty, comprising: thick white glaze with underglaze blue design of qilin in center, 3-7/8 x 8-1/8 in.; with four character reign mark, garden scene featuring scholars and emperor, center with landscape within two bands, banding on interior rim, 3-1/4 x 8-1/2 in.; with four character reign mark, garden scene featuring scholars and emperor, metal mounting on rim, 3-3/8 x 8-5/8 in.; two carved wood stands

Note: William Joseph Roache and his family moved from Australia to Hong Kong in the early 1960s. He was employed as an Agronomist, and his job took him out into the Chinese countryside. In these travels, he purchased Chinese art, typically porcelains, from locals and shops. Mr. Roache then moved to Singapore in the late 1960s and continued his passion for collecting. After moving to the United States, he and his family retired to a horse farm in Rutherfordton, North Carolina where he lived surrounded by his beloved objects.

glaze drip, anomalies, firing cracks, hairlines on interior, chip to rim, wear to base; anomalies, pinholes, divot on rim with associated 2 in. hairline to body, chip to rim; anomalies, pinholes, chipping to rim under metal mounting, slight separation of metal mounting, wear top base; wood stands with some chipping and losses, one with repairs to legs at attachment to central ring
