British or Continental, late 18th/early 19th century, hinged box with iron lock, side bail handles and strapping, papered covered interior with fitted compartments containing similar gilt decorated hand blown glass accessories including seven large decanters with stoppers, six small decanters, separate fitted drawer with glasses and two small bottles with cork stoppers, 12-1/4 x 17-1/4 x 13 in., Provenance: From Maine Sea Captain, purchased Woodstock, Connecticut, 1974; Collection of Laurence and Helen Alspaugh, Greensboro, North Carolina

Condition

iron lock with broken clasp and retrofitted with later locking mechanism, lock work intermittently with key, pest damage and torn paper to interior, scattered minor gilt losses, scratches and small chips to glass, oxidation to iron mounts, typical scratches and minor losses to exterior consistent with age and use
Purchased items will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
