Continental, late 19th century, the ebonized case mounted with fine Dresden style plaques depicting amorous couples in landscapes on light blue ground, trestle form base with porcelain mounts and stretchers, surmounted by a maiden with horn, underside of frame with early paint inscription "from before",  53-1/2 x 44 x 26 in.

in very good condition considering fragile nature of form, maiden on central stretcher with loss at thumb, some minor distress and retouch at joints of porcelain and trestle base, some surface distress, wear and minor retouch to ebonizing, minor break to one colonette at gallery, one porcelain leaf off but present, other very minor surface flaws, losses and repairs
